Congress is failing the American people because it has stopped working for the people. Too often, our supposed representatives are only interested in holding on to power and staying in office, rather than fighting for liberty.
That’s why I’m excited about Chip Roy’s campaign for Congress in Texas. Chip is a breath of fresh air. He’s different because he knows that liberty is best preserved by smaller government, less government spending, and fewer regulations.
My fellow conservatives and I, such as Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Freedom Caucus leaders, urgently need Chip in our ongoing fight for liberty.
As you know my dad was a proud Congressman from Texas – and I can tell you that Chip will fight to let Texas continue to be Texas. He understands that every state — from Kentucky to California and everywhere in between — deserves the right to be free from the heavy hand of the federal government.
My friend Chip is locked in a tight battle for Congress right now against a very liberal Democrat opponent. He needs your help to push him over the finish line on Nov. 6.
I have seen first-hand Chip’s commitment to fight for the grassroots and you can rest assured that he will only be beholden to “We, the People” when he gets to Washington. You can know that he will defend the “forgotten men and women” who make this country great and all the voters who put him in office.
The truth is that Washington, D.C. has too much power. And the American people are suffering from the consequences of decades of one-size-fits-all decrees imposed upon 330 million people in 50 unique states.
This was never the way our government was supposed to operate. President Reagan famously said, “government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”
Washington was never supposed to have the power to create uniform teaching standards, to set prices and controls for healthcare and health insurance, or to regulate a pool of water in your backyard. This nonsense must stop. My friend Chip will help lead the fight to get Washington out of the way of the states and the people.
Chip understands we need to let Texas be Texas and California be California. As Americans, we are an inherently free people. That means we have to send people to Washington willing to stand up for the fundamental belief that self-government is best left in the hands of a diminished federal government.
Mark Levin called Chip “the future of the conservative movement.” High praise indeed. Please do what you can to send Chip Roy to Washington and give us the reinforcements we desperately need. The fight for liberty continues now more than ever.
